Position Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer to support and enhance an enterprise multi-site network environment with a strong focus on security availability and reliability. This role is hands-on and execution-focused working with modern networking and security platforms in a compliance-driven environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in complex infrastructures understands high-availability design principles and can confidently support enterprise networking and security technologies in production environments.

This position is on-site and offered as a 6-month contract with the potential to convert to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Design configure deploy and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across core distribution and access layers.

Support and administer HPE Aruba networking solutions including switching and wireless infrastructure.

Implement and maintain high-availability (HA) network architectures including redundancy failover and resiliency strategies.

Configure manage and troubleshoot next-generation firewalls including security policy design SSL decryption VPNs and HA configurations.

Support secure network segmentation VLAN design and routing best practices.

Work with cloud-based edge security and networking services such as WAF DDoS mitigation secure DNS traffic inspection and Zero Trust access models.

Monitor network performance availability and security using logging monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Participate in incident response root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.

Collaborate with infrastructure security and operations teams.

Contribute to network documentation diagrams and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer in enterprise or multi-site environments.

Demonstrated experience supporting HPE Aruba networking infrastructure.

Strong operational experience with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls including HA deployments and VPN technologies.

Solid understanding of routing and switching fundamentals VLANs secure segmentation and high-availability networking concepts.

Experience using network monitoring logging and troubleshooting tools.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

Experience with site-to-site and remote access VPN solutions.

Practical knowledge of Zero Trust networking architectures.

Exposure to SIEM platforms IDS / IPS technologies or security telemetry integration.

Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOC 2 PCI government).

Relevant certifications such as ACSP PCNSE Security or CCNP.

Additional Information

This role is on-site and requires regular presence at our Virginia Beach location.

Initial engagement is a 6-month contract with the possibility of conversion to full-time employment.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
