Job Description

Position Overview :

The Entry-Level Video Editor is responsible for editing and producing short-form video content for Layton Sports Cards’ social media platforms. This role focuses on creating high-volume, engaging clips from live streams, in-store content, breaks, and events for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. The ideal candidate is efficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable editing multiple videos per day, with or without detailed creative direction. A passion for sports cards, gaming, and digital content is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities :

Short-Form Video Editing & Production

  • Edit short-form videos for multiple social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Produce multiple pieces of content per day while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Cut and format clips from live breaks, in-store footage, product openings, and events.
  • Add captions, on-screen text, basic motion graphics, and sound effects to enhance engagement.
  • Format videos appropriately for vertical and platform-specific requirements.

Creative Execution & Adaptability

  • Edit content with or without detailed creative direction, depending on project needs.
  • Use judgment to highlight exciting moments, reactions, pulls, and key product features.
  • Adapt editing style to match Layton Sports Cards’ brand, tone, and fast-paced content style.
  • Incorporate feedback quickly and make revisions efficiently.

    • Workflow & Organization

  • Maintain organized project files and media assets.
  • Meet daily and weekly content deadlines consistently.
  • Collaborate with marketing, live break, and retail teams to identify strong content opportunities.
  • Assist in developing repeatable editing workflows to improve efficiency.

    • Qualifications & Requirements :

    Required :

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to edit multiple short-form videos per day in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and timing.
  • Basic understanding of social media trends, pacing, and short-form content best practices.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.

    • Preferred :

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects (motion graphics, text animation, transitions).
  • Familiarity with sports cards, TCGs, gaming, or live-stream content.
  • Experience editing content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.

    • Physical & Work Requirements :

  • Ability to work extended periods at a computer editing video content.
  • Comfortable working in a retail, warehouse, or studio-adjacent environment as needed.

    • Work Environment & Schedule :

  • Creative, fast-paced content production environment.
  • Flexible scheduling based on content volume and live break schedules.
  • Collaboration with on-air talent, employees, marketing, and operations teams.
