Join our team as a Nurse Manager and help lead high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative community health setting.

Duties and Responsibilities The Nurse Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily clinical operations, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring exceptional patient care.

This position partners closely with providers and clinical support teams to create an efficient, positive, and compassionate care environment aligned with our mission and values.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead & Inspire Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs).
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Coach, develop, and empower team members to achieve their professional goals and deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Drive Clinical Excellence Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including patient flow, staffing, scheduling, and clinical support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards, quality measures, Joint Commission requirements, and UDS performance indicators.
  • Monitor clinical performance and implement best practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Champion Quality & Innovation Lead quality improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as PDSA, Lean, and evidence-based practices.
  • Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve care delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in organizational committees, strategic projects, and cross-functional initiatives that advance FHCHC's mission.
  • Support Patient-Centered Care Collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, coordinated care.
  • Provide direct patient care when needed, including assessments, medication administration, documentation, and care coordination.
  • Ensure every patient receives compassionate, respectful, and culturally responsive care.
  • Qualifications Active Connecticut RN license required; BSN preferred CPR certification from the American Heart Association required Minimum 2 years of ambulatory care experience required; FQHC experience preferred At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in an ambulatory setting Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and team-building skills Experience with quality improvement methodologies such as PDSA or Lean preferred Proficiency with EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and web-based tools Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Direct Reports Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants Why Join Us?
