Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Intensivist Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP) is a certified, licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who independently and collaboratively works with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to acutely ill and/or medically complex patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
Qualifications:
Must be a board-certified and licensed Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant/Associate.
Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or secure one prior to the commencement of employment and comply with current Medicare billing requirements.
Current DEA Registration is required for schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5, along with appropriate state-issued prescribing authority.
Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory; the candidate must also obtain Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certification within one year of employment.
Preferred: A minimum of one year of experience in a cardiovascular critical care setting as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, or equivalent CVICU experience as a registered nurse.
