As a Kitten Nursery Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing round-the-clock care to our most vulnerable kittens in the neonatal nursery. Duties and Responsibilities : Follow established disease control protocols to clean, disinfect, and sanitize kennels, equipment, walkways, general areas, and other job-related items daily. Prepare and warm formula, bottle feed, stimulate, track feeding and medical information. Ensure kittens are kept warm and thriving. Clean dishes and laundry of the nursery. Handle animals humanely and safely using safety equipment if necessary. Recognize signs of illness or behavior changes and update the appropriate team. Cultivate positive public, volunteer, and coworker relations through professional, courteous, and educational interactions. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Shifts available : Our nursery operates 24 hours a day; 7 days a week; 365 days a year. Assigned shift will be determined by operational needs. A successful candidate must : - Possess a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). - Experience with Feline Neonate Bottle Feeding. - Ability to handle urgent and emergent medical situations. - Ability to work with and / or around others with frequent interruptions. - Ability to pay attention to detail and exceptional quality standards. - Ability to work with a team as well as independently. - Be dependable and reliable - early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable. - Be achievement oriented and self-motivated. Work Environment and Physical Demands : Collaborative environment where employees are expected to assist others regardless of job title or function. Work is performed in a moderate to fast-paced environment and requires critical adherence to established quality levels while completing within the timeframe allotted. Work is performed in a potentially high decibel area, with varied temperature control, and with safety equipment often required. Stamina to walk / stand / move continuously and daily for the duration of the shift, walking on all types of surfaces, oftentimes slippery / uneven / rough. Ability to regularly lift and / or control 50+ pounds (animals, animal care supplies, etc.) and perform duties that require repetitive lifting, bending, and stooping. Ability to withstand environmental factors that include both indoor and outdoor activities, including the extreme heat of AZ summers.
