  • Lead or support clinical, lab, and simulation experiences to ensure students are practice‑ready and demonstrate safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice.

Student Support & Evaluation

  • Keep students first by building meaningful relationships, understanding individual learning needs, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and implement remediation strategies as needed.
  • Ensure grading and feedback are accurate, constructive, rubric‑aligned, and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Enforce academic and student‑related policies (exams, attendance, late assignments, etc.) and stay current on policy updates.

Mentorship, Service & Collaboration

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to students and new faculty.
  • Contribute to the Chamberlain community through professional service, including committee participation, graduation, and program evaluation.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support student success and contribute to high‑performing, collaborative teams in a matrixed environment.

Scholarship, Professional Development & Compliance

  • Engage in scholarly activities related to teaching and nursing practice, including researching, applying, and disseminating new knowledge.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure all work complies with licensure, accreditation, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Key Behaviors for Success

  • Proactively anticipate and respond to student needs while removing barriers to achievement.
  • Connect daily work to Chamberlain’s vision, strategy, and academic priorities.
  • Seek feedback, embrace change, implement new initiatives, and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate accountability, ethical practice, and a commitment to individual and team success.
  • Actively model and promote Chamberlain’s culture, values, and leadership behaviors.

What Success Looks Like

  • Strong student outcomes, including NCLEX, KAM, and other key performance indicators.
  • High levels of student engagement and satisfaction as reflected in course evaluations and NPS feedback.
  • Consistent compliance with licensure and regulatory standards.
  • Effective use of technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Meaningful contributions to professional service and scholarship.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in Nursing required, doctorate degree in nursing (Preferred)
  • Education and experience must align with applicable state regulatory requirements for assigned courses and specialties.

Professional & Teaching Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a discipline related to assigned teaching responsibilities (Required)
  • Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses across classroom, online, lab, simulation, and/or clinical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning environments and effectively manage conflict when needed.

Licensure, Certification & Compliance

  • Maintain current, active, unencumbered licensure or certification required to practice professionally in the discipline (Required).
  • Maintain appropriate regulatory and practice credentials based on teaching assignment.
  • Additional clinical compliance requirements apply for faculty working in clinical settings and are outlined in the Faculty Compliance Packet.
  • Please refer to the state‑specific addendum for any additional requirements necessary to teach within your designated specialty (see Online Faculty Licensure Requirements Document).

Teaching, Technology & Innovation

  • Strong technological proficiency using learning management systems, simulation technology, and online teaching platforms.
  • Ability to effectively leverage technology, data, and emerging AI tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and high personal initiative.

Student Engagement, Collaboration & Inclusion

  • High emotional and social intelligence with a demonstrated ability to recognize student needs, respond with empathy, and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
