Shape the Future of Nursing Education

In this role, you’ll help shape the next generation of healthcare providers through high‑quality nursing education delivered in classroom and clinical settings. You’ll play a vital role in teaching, mentoring, evaluating, and supporting students while contributing to the broader academic and professional community in alignment with Chamberlain’s mission.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach assigned nursing courses across classroom, online, clinical, lab, and simulation environments using engaging, evidence‑based, and technology‑enabled methods.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and implement approved course content and teaching materials.
  • Put students first—build meaningful relationships, understand individual needs, and foster an inclusive learning environment that supports success.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback and remediation as needed.
  • Lead or support clinical, lab, and simulation experiences, connecting theory to practice and promoting safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice.
  • Support student and new faculty success through guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Participate in professional service activities such as committees, graduation, and program evaluation.
  • Engage in scholarship related to teaching and nursing practice by researching, applying, and sharing new knowledge.
  • Maintain subject‑matter expertise and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development.
  • Apply and uphold academic and student‑related policies, including exams, attendance, and grading standards, staying current with updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Anticipate and respond to student needs while helping remove barriers to success.
  • Align daily work with Chamberlain’s vision and strategic priorities.
  • Seek feedback, implement new initiatives, and use data to continuously improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrate ethical practice, accountability, and a commitment to shared success.

What Success Looks Like

  • Students achieve strong outcomes, including NCLEX, KAM, and other program metrics.
  • High levels of student engagement and satisfaction reflected in evaluations and NPS feedback.
  • All academic work meets licensure and regulatory requirements.
  • Grading and feedback are accurate, rubric‑aligned, timely, and high quality.
  • Effective use of technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ongoing faculty contributions to service, scholarship, and a positive academic culture aligned with Chamberlain’s values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a field related to the teaching discipline.
  • Active, unencumbered licensure or certification required to practice professionally in the discipline, as applicable to assignment.
  • Education and experience that align with state, regulatory, and licensure requirements for assigned courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach assigned courses based on education, experience, and professional preparation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in nursing.

Teaching & Professional Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a high level of initiative.
  • Proven ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments and manage conflict effectively.
  • Strong emotional and social intelligence, with the ability to recognize student needs and respond with empathy.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, Extended Service Teams, and clinical partners to support student outcomes.

Technology & Innovation

  • Proficiency with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online teaching platforms.
  • Growing ability to leverage technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness.

  • Scholarship of Discovery
  • Scholarship of Integration
  • Scholarship of Practice/Application

  • Scholarship activities must be public, peer‑reviewable, and accessible for use by others, as outlined in the faculty handbook.

Compliance & Credentialing

  • Maintains current regulatory, licensure, and practice credentials as required by assignment.
  • For faculty working in clinical settings, meets all additional compliance requirements outlined in the Faculty Compliance Packet.
