TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Nurse Manager (Behavioral Health) in Washington, DC for our client, overseeing nursing operations, clinical leadership, and patient care within an inpatient behavioral health setting. This leadership role will supervise nursing staff, support clinical excellence, promote operational efficiency, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will bring behavioral health nursing leadership experience, strong clinical and operational expertise, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities as the Nurse Manager (Behavioral Health):
  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee daily nursing operations and provide leadership to clinical staff within the inpatient behavioral health unit.
  • Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and support nursing personnel while assisting with scheduling, performance management, and staff development.
  • Patient Care Oversight: Promote the delivery of safe, high-quality behavioral health services while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
  • Operational Coordination: Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain efficient unit operations and continuity of care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor adherence to organizational policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Improvement: Support performance improvement initiatives, monitor key clinical outcomes, and identify opportunities to enhance patient care and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications for the Nurse Manager (Behavioral Health):
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required. Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification are required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of nursing experience with prior leadership or management experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of behavioral health nursing practices, patient safety standards, regulatory requirements, and inpatient psychiatric operations is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, lead clinical teams, and adapt to the needs of a 24/7 care environment are required.
