Benefits :Looking for a legal secretary with the following skill set :
Prior litigation experience in California state and federal court is required; appellate experience is preferred
Preparing and formatting pleadings, correspondence, forms, and other legal documents
Must know how to generate Tables of Authorities and Contents for motions
File (electronically, via facsimile, or paper file) and serve court documents and related
correspondence, memorandum, pleadings, law and motion, and related documents with
opposing counsel, local, state, and federal courts
Serve and format discovery and subpoenas
Request records (medical, employment, etc.) via various record services and maintenance
of subpoenaed records log
Accurately calendar deadlines and reminders for deadlines and keep attorneys aware of
scheduled and approaching events via Outlook
Handle the incoming and outgoing mail for the supported attorneys
Schedule hearings, meetings, depositions, conference calls, assist with travel
arrangements when necessary
Enter time and handle billing for assigned timekeepers
Assist fellow co-workers and / or other timekeepers as needed and requested
Prior experience with editing and drafting CC&Rs preferred
Prior experience with Worldox, Coyote Analytics and Westlaw preferred
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS 3 - 5 YEARS OF LITIGATION EXPERIENCE
