Job description

Yellowstone Local is proud to represent TDI Refrigeration, an industry leader in commercial refrigeration and trade services.

If you know how to turn financial discipline into stronger margins, smarter growth, and better executive decisions, this is your opportunity to take ownership of the financial engine behind a multi-location organization.

What’s in it for You?

  • Base salary up to $200,000 annually

  • Annual bonus opportunity of approximately 10%

  • Company-specified base medical plan 100% covered for employees and 70% covered for dependents, with upgrade options available at an additional cost

  • Dental and vision insurance

  • Health Savings Account (HSA)

  • Retirement benefits

  • Paid holidays, sick leave, and paid time off with negotiable starting accrual

  • Executive-level opportunity to directly influence company strategy, profitability, and long-term growth

  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership on major financial and strategic decisions

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Go beyond reporting the numbers by using financial data and analysis to influence strategic decisions and business growth

  • Take ownership of corporate finance, FP&A, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, job costing, WIP reporting, and financial controls across multiple locations

  • Partner with executive, operations, and sales leadership to strengthen margins, improve profitability, and turn financial insights into action

  • Lead and develop the accounting team while establishing high standards for accuracy, accountability, efficiency, and financial integrity

  • Play a key financial role in capital investments, banking, acquisitions, succession planning, company valuation, and long-term growth

  • Help protect the financial health of the business today while building the financial infrastructure needed for what comes next

Your New Role

  • Serve as the executive accountable for the company’s financial strategy, financial operations, reporting, treasury, internal controls, and financial risk management across all locations.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO/owner and executive leadership team by translating financial and operational information into actionable insights, identifying risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions, and supporting short- and long-term strategic planning.

  • Lead financial planning for growth initiatives, new locations, service-line expansion, staffing requirements, capital needs, financing alternatives, and other strategic investments.

  • Manage short- and medium-term cash flow, maintaining clear visibility into the company’s liquidity position and ensuring obligations are met without disruption to operations.

  • Own the annual operating and capital budgeting process, rolling financial forecasts, and monthly budget-to actual reviews, including projections for revenue, gross margin, overhead, EBITDA, cash flow, staffing, capital expenditures, and financing requirements.

  • Establish and monitor meaningful companywide financial and operational key performance indicators that provide leadership with clear visibility into profitability, productivity, cash flow, backlog, working capital, and overall business performance.

  • Measure and report profitability by location, state, department, service line, customer, contract, and project; identify margin deterioration, cost overruns, and operational inefficiencies; and partner with operational and sales leaders on corrective actions.

  • Own the accuracy and effective use of job-cost and work-in-progress reporting, including cost-to-complete estimates, billing position, and project margin performance.

  • Partner with operations and sales on pricing and margin strategy, evaluating labor rates, service pricing, material markups, subcontractor costs, contract terms, travel costs, project risks, and expected cash flow to ensure growth produces acceptable profitability and returns.

  • Lead working-capital management, including financial oversight of billing, accounts receivable, collections, unbilled work, retainage, accounts payable, inventory, purchasing terms, and vendor-payment strategy.

  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls across all locations, proactively identifying and addressing risks related to errors, fraud, mismanagement, unauthorized transactions, payment fraud, and misappropriation of company assets.

  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax planning and compliance and manage relationships with outside tax advisors to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate compliance across all operating jurisdictions.

  • Provide financial oversight and analysis for insurance, employee-benefit, and retirement-plan programs, including renewals, funding strategy, financial controls, and coordination with HR and outside advisors.

  • Establish financial review and approval standards for significant customer and vendor contracts, focusing on payment terms, credit risk, retainage, bonding requirements, change orders, cash-flow implications, and other material commercial exposures in coordination with legal counsel and operational leadership.

  • Establish approval and return-on-investment standards for significant capital expenditures, including vehicles, equipment, facilities, technology, new locations, acquisitions, and other major investments, and monitor actual performance against approved assumptions.

Hiring Expectations: Apply today, complete a quick phone screening, and get ready for an interview with our team to discuss your goals and experience.
