Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the Writing Center Coordinator and efforts of the Writing Center for Albany State University's East and West Campuses and the online Center environment, while also providing varied guiding support for Writing Center assigned student workers. The unique needs of each student contribute to the complexity of the position. Success in this position contributes to the successful education of students and to compliance with accreditation standards. This position is funded through grant funding. Continuation of employment is based upon the availability of funds.

Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Writing Center.
- Provides varied guiding support for the work of tutoring personnel and assigned student workers.
- Tutors students in writing.
- Conducts orientation sessions for classes.
- Provides resources for midterm and final exam preparation.
- Assists in the selection and maintenance of materials and equipment.
- Assists in maintaining the orderliness of the Writing Center.
- Aids in coordinating scheduling, coverage, and duties of the Center, Peer Tutoring, and Tutoring on Demand (TOD) platform for Writing Center representation.
- Aids in performing tasks related to tracking, data collection, and reporting, utilizing student information systems (SIS) such as Banner and EAB.
- Serves on assigned committees and task forces.
- Performs related duties as assigned, to include coverage of duties assigned to the Writing Center Coordinator and Assistant in their absence.
- This position has varied guiding support for the work of tutoring personnel and assigned student workers.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field; completion of a baccalaureate degree in English or Writing is preferred.
Experience sufficient to understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunit in the department in order to support within the department, usually interpreted to require a minimum of one year of related experience.
