Palmetto Christian Academy is a PK-12 Christian school serving 815 students and located in Mt. Pleasant, SC. PCA is committed to rigorous academics, thoughtful faith integration, and meaningful student relationships. Our secondary teachers are content experts who challenge students to think critically, communicate clearly, and live faithfully. At PCA, teachers are trusted professionals who shape minds, mentor students, and prepare graduates for college, calling, and leadership.
Palmetto Christian Academy is seeking a full-time, Middle School Writing Lab Teacher to support strengthening writing skills through targeted instruction, guided practice, and collaboration with core subject teachers. Serving 6th and 8th grade students one day per week and 7th grade students daily, the Writing Lab focuses on developing clear ideas, strong organization, and effective revision across a variety of writing genres. The teacher partners closely with Middle School English Language Arts and History faculty to reinforce writing expectations connected to classroom assignments, while explicitly teaching foundational writing skills, editing strategies, and proper citation practices. Additionally, in 7th grade, students complete a full research paper, guiding them through the process of conducting research, outlining, drafting, and revising their work. Through individualized support and peer collaboration, the Writing Lab fosters confident, independent writers who take ownership of their work and grow in both skill and purpose.
