Position Description Summary
Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for a Writing Center Respondent - English!
Writing Center Respondents are responsible for providing individual and small group writing assistance to HFC students both face-to-face and online. Respondents in the Writing Center possess a strong background in Writing Center theory and practice, Composition, Literacy, and / or TESOL, and help students think through their writing goals, approaches, processes, and products. Respondents work with student writers to provide them with a fuller understanding of the academic, social, and cultural effects of writing.
This position is part-time with a maximum of 24 hours per week, and is subject to renewal each semester (Fall, Winter, and Summer). Applicants who are also teaching at HFC must remain under 24 hours per week.
- 2+ years of experience teaching writing or providing writing assistance in a higher education setting, with community college experience a bonus.
- Graduate students with a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a conferred degree.
