Title : Operations Manager
Location : New York City metropolitan area
Pay Range : $32.41 - $32.96 per hour (est. $59,000 - $60,000 per annum)
FLSA Classification : Full-time (35 hours per week), Non-Exempt
Role Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of their Transitional Housing Program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-managed environment for clients and staff. This role is responsible for supervising facility operations, coordinating program services, and ensuring compliance with operational standards imposed by the organization and / or authorized government bodies.
Primary Job Responsibilities / Duties
The primary job duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following :
- Manage day-to-day program operations, facilities management, and client support systems.
- Supervise the Program’s Residential Aides, Shift Supervisors, and other Operations staff (if any) to ensure their timely and appropriate service delivery to clients.
- Provide other Operations staff with ongoing coaching, training, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth and accountability.
- Provide employees and clients with guidance concerning relevant policies and procedures, including but not limited to conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques, to promote safety and compliance.
- Participate in the development of operational goals, objectives, and procedures for the Program, making recommendations for changes to existing standards and procedures.
- Serve as the Program’s main advocate and daily representative in communications with third parties concerned with or hired to provide maintenance, security, and / or cleaning or housekeeping services.
- Work closely with the Program’s Director of Operations / Security to ensure compliance with applicable health, fire safety, and emergency preparedness standards, as well as any contractual obligations related to the Program.
- Work closely with the Program’s Director of Operations / Security to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including those promulgated by the City of New York’s Department of Homeless Services (“DHS”) and other authorized regulators and government bodies.
- Conduct regular audits of program documentation, case notes, and operational reports to maintain program integrity.
- Respond to and manage crises, incidents, or emergencies in coordination with other NAICA leadership and staff.
- Establishing and implementing team schedules and work tasks for the team.
- Prepare and submit operational reports, incident logs, occupancy reports, and other documentation as required.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that prioritizes client well-being and staff safety.
- Maintain ongoing communication with all Operations department supervisors / directors concerning any issues.
- Report directly to the Program’s Director of Operations / Security, and indirectly to its Site Director, about all activities, needs / concerns and incidents within the facility.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the program.
