Job description

About Us

Anthos|Home is a nonprofit startup focused on creating a new way home for New Yorkers with housing vouchers. We streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in process using technology to move people into stable housing faster. We believe every person deserves a place to blossom, and we're building the tools, systems, and teams to make that possible.

Our Culture

At Anthos|Home, urgency drives our work because every day in shelter matters. We are focused on helping people move into stable housing as quickly as possible and continuously improving how we get there.

We are looking for team members who are highly data-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable learning new systems. Strong candidates value accuracy, use data to inform decisions, and actively improve how information is tracked and shared.

We value people who are thoughtful, adaptable, and detail-oriented, and who follow through, communicate openly, and take ownership of their work. How effectively we use data and technology directly impacts how quickly people get home.

About the Team

The Aftercare Operations team supports the full arc of participant move-ins and housing stability, working closely with Housing Specialists, landlords, and external vendors to ensure that every household has what they need to thrive in their new home. This role joins an active, close-knit team and plays a meaningful part in Anthos|Home's day-to-day impact.

Founded in 2022, we blend public and private funding to move people out of shelter and into stable homes — faster. Our Aftercare department provides up to a year of post-move-in support to participants and housing providers across all five boroughs, ensuring that placements become lasting, stable homes.

The Role

The Aftercare Operations Specialist will report to the Aftercare Operations Supervisor and provide essential logistical and administrative support that keeps the Aftercare department running smoothly. This role sits at the operational heart of the team: coordinating move-in logistics, maintaining accurate records across our systems, and providing cross-functional support to Aftercare Operations staff as needed. A key feature of this position is regular field travel throughout the five boroughs to support check pickup, key handoffs, and related in-person logistics at participant apartments and partner sites.

The ideal candidate is organized, self-directed, and comfortable navigating both a busy desk environment and an active field schedule. They bring a reliable, service-oriented approach and find satisfaction in the details that make big-picture outcomes possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular travel throughout New York City to support check pickups, key handoffs, and other in-person logistics as assigned
  • Serve as a responsive primary point of contact for participants throughout the move-in process, fielding inquiries and providing guidance on deliveries, key pickup, utility setup, voucher questions, moving logistics, and early tenancy concerns
  • Support move-in logistics by coordinating third party service providers including moving truck scheduling, supply ordering, furniture ordering and delivery coordination, renter's insurance, policy ordering and tracking, and coordinating additional as needed services.
  • Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and vendors to facilitate timely unit access and resolve logistical challenges
  • Maintain active interdepartmental communication to coordinate participant needs, flag delivery issues, process payments, and support day-to-day program activity.
  • Support identification and vetting of vendors and service providers, including researching options, attending introductory meetings, and coordinating outreach to potential partners such as moving companies and furniture suppliers
  • Provide operational support to Aftercare Operations team members, including covering logistics tasks during high-volume periods or staff transitions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant and landlord records in Salesforce and other tracking systems
  • Collect, organize, and reconcile receipts and documentation for Aftercare Operations expenses
  • Assist with data entry and reporting to support program compliance and quality assurance
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in supporting evolving departmental and organizational needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in an operations, coordination, or administrative role; nonprofit or housing-sector experience a plus
  • Comfort with field travel across all five boroughs as a regular part of the role (MetroCard or transportation reimbursement provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Highly adaptable – comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still evolving and flexibility is essential.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new digital tools and systems; Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail); experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team approach and willingness to step in where needed
  • Trauma-informed approach to working with participants navigating housing transitions; comfortable with crisis response and tenancy stabilization in complex situations.
  • Commitment to Anthos|Home's mission and values

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive starting salary: $65,000 - $70,000
  • Hybrid work environment: 2-5 days in office &/or in the field
  • This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including:
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with 4% employer match
    • Generous paid time off
    • Summer Fridays in August
    • Professional development opportunities
    • Current wellness perks: Weekly yoga classes, ClassPass subscription etc.
