  • Clinical Shift Schedule : Monday – Friday, 6 : 45a – 5 : 00p
  • On-Call Shift Schedule : Intermittent weeknight call (Mon–Thu); Weekend call one weekend per month
  • Call Ratio : Distributed equitably across surgeons

  • Inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases
  • Pre‑operative and postoperative rounding
  • Emergent weekend surgical cases as needed

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses : Active FL license required
  • Board : BC / BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • DEA : Active DEA Certification
  • Certifications : BLS / ACLS as applicable
  • Experience : Cardiothoracic surgery experience required
  • Other Qualifications : Ability to collaborate with APPs; Lee Health Signed Attestation, Clean NPDB report

    • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases
  • Conduct pre‑operative and postoperative rounding with APP support
  • Cosign APP‑created progress notes and consult notes; add surgeon notes as needed
  • Provide weekend rounding (approximately one weekend per month)
  • Cover emergent weekend OR cases and respond to new consults
  • Participate in night call rotation (Mon–Thu) as assigned
  • Respond to ER, CVICU, and PA‑initiated calls when escalated
