Outside Sales

The outside salesperson represents CED to potential new and existing customers. The focus for this position is to develop relationships with those customers in order to maintain and increase sales. Reports to : Sales Manager

Minimum qualifications :

  • Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of electrical products and their functions
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience
  • Ability to travel and make sales calls at customer locations
  • Ability to comprehend, read, and communicate in English both orally and in writing
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets CED required standards
  • Math skills including calculating percentages, decimals, and discount multipliers

Preferred qualifications : N / A

Working conditions : Conditions vary based on the customer location and may include construction, warehouse, manufacturing, office, or external environments. Some activities may include walking, standing, climbing in various conditions including extreme heat or cold. Essential functions will require travel to customer locations.

Supervisory responsibilities : No

Essential job functions :

  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers
  • Research and analyze the local market, analyze customer potential, and determine target accounts
  • Learn customer needs and expectations by asking questions and understanding the applications in order to make product recommendations
  • Provide information to maximize sales
