1 Hoag Dr., Hoag Newport Beach, NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92663 Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse II – Perioperative role provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in a Perioperative unit.
Includes:
CVOR, Cath Lab, Operating Room, Recovery Room/PACU, Pre-Admission Testing, Pre/Post Unit, HOI Pre-Op, HOI Operating Room, HOI Recovery Room/PACU, HOI Surgery Center Job Responsibilities • The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. • This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned. • Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. • Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Additionally, the Clinical Nurse II meets the requirements outlined in the Clinical Ladder program respective to his/her department. • The Clinical Nurse III demonstrates a commitment to hospital involvement and professional growth by participating in committees, attending related meetings, and presenting education projects and/or supplemental activities. Required Skills & Experience: • One (1) year recent Operating Room (OR) experience in an acute care hospital.
OR • Recent completion of the Hoag Perioperative Training Program. Required Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required Certifications & Licensure • Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing. • Current BLS certification prior to clinical rotation. • CVOR: ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
