Scottsdale Endoscopy Center is seeking a full time Medical Assistant to join the team!

Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Scottsdale Endoscopy Center is a facility in which physicians have an ownership or investment interest. Our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Gastroenterology including: EGDs, Colonoscopy, EGD/Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy

Job Summary: The Pre Admission Medical Assistant may assume the following responsibilities: Verifies patient information by interviewing patient with two patient identifiers; reviewing and/or recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Reports to PAT RN any area of concern and revision of chart. Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to their bed; providing procedural gowns and drapes; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment. Conducts quality checks. Taking vital signs. Participates in the standardized education of patients through written instructions and answering questions as directed by provider. Independently initiates referrals and insurance pre-authorizations. Provides general office support including phone and fax management.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Plans and prepares for the preadmission of the patient.
  • Performs basic health care services like measuring patient vital signs
  • Provides excellent bedside manners to patients, offering words of comfort and encouragement as needed
  • Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards, taking into consideration the age and risk factors of the patient.
  • Helps transport patients to and from procedure rooms, which may include lifting them from wheelchairs and/or beds
  • Cleans and stocks assigned areas, including but not limited to pre-op, PACU, and procedure rooms
  • Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications as applicable.
  • Enters all required information into the company's EMR system, complying with the company's data entry standards and HIPAA
  • Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Performs additional duties as needed by the department.

Required Skills:

  • Certification from accredited Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program is preferred, but not required.
  • CPR/BLS required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
