Job Summary
As a Pet Training Instructor, you will engage with pet parents and their pets, ensuring positive experiences while adhering to PetSmart's values and mission. You'll educate pet parents about our training offerings and deliver training sessions based on our proven curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional experiences to pet parents through various communication methods.
• Promote and sell training classes in-store, on the phone, and online.
• Guide pet parents on the advantages of our complete pet training curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records related to pet training.
• Serve as a training subject matter expert for store associates.
• Schedule classes in accordance with company guidelines.
• Create a safe and welcoming training environment for pets and parents.
• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the training area and surrounding spaces.
• Acknowledge associates' contributions to training sales.
• Act quickly if a sick or injured pet is identified in the store.
• Recommend and sell products and services related to pet training.
• Assist in other store departments as needed.
• Foster a culture of belonging and recognition.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of retail experience in a customer-focused role.
• Completion of the PetSmart Training Instructor course.
• Proficient in computer applications.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and use hands for multiple tasks.
• Frequent lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds; occasional team lifts for more than 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environments, and pet hair; moderate noise levels.

Pay Details
