Job Description :

Operates radiation detection and measurement equipment to capture and record visual representations of radionuclide concentrations in specific body areas. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed by a radiologist. Reviews patient requisitions and charts with the radiologist before starting exams. Explains the nature of tests to patients to ensure compliance and understanding. Monitors contaminated articles and bed linens using a Geiger counter to prevent the spread of radioactivity. Keeps detailed records of tests conducted, test results, and the usage and disposition of radionuclides and body products containing them. Attends in-services and maintains continuing education requirements. Participates in the "Float" pool to assist other areas when not busy. Provides patient transportation when needed. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor'sAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Certified Radiologic Technologist (R.T.-CERT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Department of Safety and Professional Services Licensed (DSPS-LIC) - Accredited Issuing Body, Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Licensed Radiology Technologist - Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (L.R.T.) - Accredited Issuing Body, Medical Radiation Technology - IEMA (MRT-IEMA) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology (R.T.(N)(ARRT)) - EV Accredited Issuing Body

Pay Range : $29.04 - $54.02
