The Law Office of Stacy D Heard, PLLCSeattle, WA, US
[job_card.variable_days_ago]
[job_preview.job_type]
  • [job_card.full_time]
[job_card.job_description]

This is not just a family law role.

This is for an attorney who wants to do meaningful work at a high level—while being part of a team that values both excellence and humanity.

At The Law Office of Stacy D. Heard, PLLC, we don’t just handle cases. We guide people through some of the most complex, emotional, and high-stakes transitions of their lives—often across international borders, cultures, and legal systems.

If you are a thoughtful advocate, a strategic thinker, and someone who can balance strength with compassion… you may have just found your next home.

Why This Role Is Different

  • You’ll work on complex, high-level cases (international custody, cross-border disputes, high-conflict divorce)
  • You’ll be trusted with real ownership, not micromanaged
  • You’ll be part of a tight-knit, collaborative team that supports each other
  • You’ll grow into a recognized leader in family law, not just a case processor
  • You’ll do work that genuinely changes the trajectory of people’s lives

Who This Is For

This role is for an attorney who:

  • Wants to own their cases and take pride in outcomes
  • Can navigate both legal complexity and human emotion
  • Is energized by challenging, meaningful work
  • Communicates with clarity, confidence, and compassion
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, high-responsibility environment
  • Is ready to grow professionally and personally

What You’ll Do

You will take the lead on a diverse and sophisticated caseload, including:

  • Complex divorces and child custody disputes
  • International family law matters (including child abduction cases)
  • Cases involving domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health dynamics
  • Financially intricate cases requiring strategic thinking

You’ll also:

  • Represent clients in court (motions, hearings, trials)
  • Lead mediations and arbitrations
  • Conduct discovery, including depositions
  • Develop strong legal strategies and written work product
  • Build trusted relationships with clients during highly sensitive moments

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2+ years of Washington family law experience
  • Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills
  • Excellent writing, research, and case management abilities
  • Ability to connect with clients across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Emotional intelligence and professional maturity
  • Flexibility to work across international time zones when needed
  • A desire to contribute to firm growth, visibility, and leadership

What You’ll Gain

  • Compensation: $105,000 – $175,000 (based on experience and performance)
  • Meaningful, high-impact work that goes beyond billable hours
  • A team that values excellence, trust, and balance
  • Opportunities for leadership, visibility, and long-term growth
  • A firm culture grounded in advocacy, pragmatism, and compassion

About the Firm

The Law Office of Stacy D. Heard, PLLC is a respected leader in international family law, known for:

  • Strategic, high-level advocacy
  • Deep compassion for clients navigating crisis
  • Experience with both traditional and non-traditional families
  • A commitment to helping clients not just resolve cases—but build better futures

If This Sounds Like You…

We’re not looking for just any attorney.

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow, contribute, and make an impact.

If that resonates, we’d love to connect.

Compensation:

$105,000 - $175,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Independent case management, including complex child custody disputes, divorces, international child abduction, complex finances, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health.
  • Representation of clients in court for motions, hearings, and trials.
  • Representation of clients in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Preparation of and engagement in discovery, including depositions.
  • Strong research and writing skills.

Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in a Washington family law practice.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to connect with clients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to work in various international time zones.
  • Compassionate guidance for clients.
  • Enthusiasm to engage in marketing efforts, network, and become a leader in the area of family law.
  • Ability to be a team player in the office setting.
