Job description
About Us:
Edge Media DC provides video production services to businesses, non-profits, and government agencies within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Our service categories include content creation, live & virtual event production, and tech staffing for venues and government agencies with an ongoing need for broadcast media support.

Our team is passionate about using visual storytelling techniques & media technologies to communicate messages that matter. We emphasize the competitive advantage of working with a media team that cares about the impact—not just the deliverable. This focus allows us to partner with brands and organizations whose mission and values align with our own.

Position Overview:
As a Photographer at Edge Media DC, you will play a key role in capturing compelling visual content across a variety of environments, including live events, branded shoots, and documentary-style productions. You will be responsible for producing high-quality imagery that aligns with client goals and elevates their visual presence.

This role requires both technical expertise and creative vision, with the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic, fast-paced settings. You’ll collaborate closely with our production team to ensure cohesive storytelling across both photo and video deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture high-quality photos for live events, corporate functions, church services, branded content, and productions.
  • Plan and execute photo shoots, including lighting setup, composition, and shot selection based on creative direction and client needs.
  • Edit and deliver polished images in a timely manner using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with videographers, producers, and clients to ensure cohesive visual storytelling across projects.
  • Conduct pre-event preparation, including gear checks and shot planning to ensure readiness for all shooting conditions.
  • Adapt to varying lighting environments and event conditions while maintaining consistent image quality.
  • Manage and maintain photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting gear, and accessories.
  • Organize and archive photo assets for easy retrieval and long-term client use.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Photographer, preferably in events, corporate, or media production environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across event photography, portraits, and branded content.
  • Proficiency in photography and editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Solid understanding of lighting techniques, composition, and camera settings in dynamic environments.
  • Experience working with professional camera systems (Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc.) and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and capture key moments in real time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with clients and team members.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for storytelling and visual consistency.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in photography, visual arts, or a related field preferred.

How to Apply:
If you're passionate about visual storytelling and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your resume, portfolio, and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and why you’re a strong fit for this role.
