How You Will Make an Impact
The Junior Production Planner helps ensure the right products are built at the right time, balancing demand, capacity, and material availability. By maintaining accurate schedules and work orders, this role minimizes delays, reduces changeovers, and improves on-time delivery performance. The planner partners closely with production, procurement, and quality to resolve constraints and keep daily operations flowing. Their attention to data accuracy and proactive communication directly supports inventory health and cost control. Overall, this role is a key contributor to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Build and update daily / weekly production schedules based on demand signals, capacity, and prioritization rules.
- Run MRP, review exceptions, and collaborate with buyers to resolve material shortages and delays.
- Release, update, and close production work orders; verify BOM and routing accuracy and implement ECO changes.
- Maintain planning parameters (lead time, safety stock, lot size) to improve flow and reduce stockouts.
- Track schedule adherence, aging work orders, and past-due demand; drive corrective actions with stakeholders.
- Prepare and communicate short-interval plans and line-of-balance visuals for shop floor execution.
- Support root-cause analysis for misses (late jobs, expedites) and recommend plan adjustments.
- Assist in capacity planning (labor and machine) and sequence optimization to reduce changeover and downtime.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, standard work) within planning and production.
