Role: Talent Program Manager (Talent Development / Performance Programs)

Client: Zscaler
Duration: 6 12 Months (Possible Extension / Conversion)
Location: San Jose, CA (Preferred) or Bellevue, WA
Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite | Monday & Friday Remote)

JOB ID: ZI-1449-87

Must Haves:

  • HR/Talent Analytics background- diverse understanding and communication driven by analytics/data
  • Experince with pushing internal projects/products forward covering multiple stakeholder impact
  • STRONG communication skills with ability to take feedback and deliver quality messaging as needed
  • Tech Stack Exp- Workday, Asana, Visier, Gsuite/Slack
  • Experience with Gen0 builds of internal product/process and the needed drive from a PM standpoint

Notes to Distribution:

  • Role will be onsite in either the Bellview or San Jose offices with 3 days onsite a week with Mon & Fri remote in a hybrid role.
  • San Jose preferable but open to Bellview for the right candidate.
  • Initial 6 - 12 month's engagement with possible and hopefully conversion, likely before full year for a great candidate but always subject to change.
  • Zscaler is looking for a highly flexible and driven Talent Program Manager, really focused on pushing the Talent initiatives forward through strong communication, stakeholder support, and collaborative work. They are NOT looking for HRBP's or your typical HR or Talent function roles. This really will be driven towards an oversight of current project initiatives within the Talent Department and helping to push those forward. Main initial project will be a roll out of a new Performance Management process and platform at Zscaler. This is not a role trying to influence performance management policy or process or other talent team items- but rather an individual contributor tasked with owning and driving the desired vision forward to the Zscaler masses. Top candidates should be EXTREAMLY stakeholder focused, with agile mindset toward projects and product movement. A keen eye for the user experience (UX) in the Talent space is a major plus. They won't be developing the product- but they should be able to help provide viable feedback on the user impacts and help drive the vision of the performance platform forward reaching the needed teams and stakeholders. Candidates don't need to be AI experts- but MUST be open to use and the more experience with AI automations and use in data analytics the better. Stressing that this is NOT a typical HR/HRBP/Talent function role. This is a data driven program management/project management role within the HR/Talent departments. Using Talent/HR data and analytics to explain the needed HR processes and next steps, movement forward. Tech Stack- GSuite/Slack, Workday, Visier or Tableau for analytics, Asana. They will also be building out a custom tool for HR/Talent Analytics- so this is where the eye for UX and impact to stakeholders from a custom tool is a great nice to have. Candidates that have been a smaller organization that have had to juggle lots of balls, really roll up their sleeves and complete projects and drive them forward are the better fits.

Description

Job Brief:

Zscaler's Talent & Performance team operates with a shared commitment to cultivating a culture of execution. Our values (TOPIC) and leadership principles (HUMAN) are the foundation for how we work-with clarity, accountability, and outcome-oriented collaboration. Every initiative, decision, and behavior are aligned with these principles to build trust, teamship, and alignment. This contract role is open because we need leaders who thrive in high-impact, fast-moving environments and are relentless about delivering results. You'll be empowered to drive talent programs that create real business value and strengthen our culture.

Responsibilities:

Lead and land global and regional talent development programs with a focus on delivering business impact-not just hitting delivery dates Operate across both strategic and tactical levels to co-create, launch, iterate, and optimize talent solutions; step in wherever needed to move the team forward Build trust through consistent, high-quality execution; ensure all actions are aligned to Zscaler's mission and values Proactively communicate concise, action-based updates; surface risks and progress early to maintain momentum Actively collaborate across functions, challenge ideas with constructive feedback, and commit to decisions post-debate Champion continuous improvement, keeping outcomes, impact, and velocity at the forefront

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to deliver large-scale talent development projects/programs with measurable business impact.
  • Strong operational and program management skills-including strategic planning, change enablement, and hands-on execution.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders and diverse, global teams; able to drive shared ownership, co-creation, and fast results.
  • Relentless commitment to accountability, outcome-focused execution, and iterative improvement.
  • Direct communication style; brings clarity, challenges constructively, and pushes for the best solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively under ambiguity, and switch between high-level strategy and tactical detail.
  • Values simplicity, substance, and velocity; avoids overcomplication and focuses on landing meaningful outcomes.
  • Minimum 6 years progressive people program experience (high-growth, fast paced environments preferred).
