ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY : This role will support programming through the development of engaging workshops, field trips, and activities. Kellogg Ranch is a community education and outreach venture for the Huntley College of Agriculture. The farm supports University education by providing experiential learning opportunities to CPP students. Kellogg Ranch seeks to engage the community and provide entertaining and educational experiences in an agricultural setting.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety) :
- Plan, develop and execute enriching activities for field trip participants based on the season and / or theme.
- Ensure that budget is maintained, work with Director to ensure expenditures are tracked and within allocated amounts.
- Train and coach student employees to facilitate educational activities during community engagement events and field trips.
- Develop and facilitate community workshops, exhibitions, and demonstrations.
- Provide guidance to student employees and volunteers during the events.
- Manage inventory and supplies needed for visitor participation in demonstrations.
- Liaise with visitors to ensure guest experiences meet expectations.
- Responsible for resolving issues to the satisfaction of the guest(s).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student staff, addressing any issues promptly and escalating when needed.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to adhere to a regular work schedule which will include evenings and weekends.
- Will perform other duties as required.

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
