At MB2 Dental, we prioritize exceptional customer service and the reliable operation of our technology systems. We are seeking a skilled IT Asset Management Specialist to oversee and support the full lifecycle of our organization’s IT assets. This includes managing hardware such as workstations, servers, and mobile devices, as well as software tools, cloud services, and other digital systems. A successful candidate will maintain clear visibility in MB2 Dental’s entire hardware and software environment, ensuring all assets perform as expected and support our business needs.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
Asset Management:
- Build and support a strong IT Asset Management (ITAM) function.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all hardware and software.
- Track assets throughout their full lifecycle from procurement to retirement.
- Evaluate asset needs across the organization and coordinate timely acquisition.
- Develop and enforce policies for asset purchasing, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and governance requirements.
Hardware & Software Operations:
- Develop and collaborate on hardware and software standards with IT leadership.
- Oversee procurement of IT hardware, software, and related equipment.
- Manage hardware lifecycle tasks, including deployment, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of equipment and accessories.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving processes for all assets.
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Support management of vendor relationships, billing, and contract renewals.
- Track software licenses and ensure compliance.
- Support contract and pricing negotiations.
- Monitor vendor performance to meet MB2 Dental expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4 - 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management or related IT operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of project management principles.
- Ability to switch between different tasks efficiently.
- Customer-focused, positive, and flexible approach to support.
- Adaptability in a fast-changing technical environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using ITAM or ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Fresh Service, Jira Service Management).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or procurement platforms.
- Understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, SaaS platforms).
- Experience managing vendor relationships or negotiating contracts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud-based management tools.
- Experience supporting multi-site or distributed office environments.
- Experience with budget and resource planning.
- IT certifications such as:
- ITIL Foundation.
- CompTIA A+.
- CompTIA ITF+.
- CompTIA Network+.
- Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP).
