This is an exciting time to join Market Equipment's team at a high-growth stage. Market Equipment is looking for an electrical project manager with experience working in the HVAC/R and commercial construction industry. The position requires an excellent sense of time management, problem solving, as well as excellent attention to detail in a deadline driven environment.
This person will be based in Spokane, WA.
Responsibilities and skills:
- Obtain bid invites from various sources
- Formulate bids and devises plan for project execution
- Enhance business margins by making intelligent price decisions through the application of product knowledge and delivery capabilities
- Communicate with new and existing customers to provide bids for work ranging from small, one day jobs, to large $1M+ multi month projects
- Perform "take offs" from blueprints, and perform accurate job costing to ensure all costs and requirements are met to execute the work
- Ensure continual improvement of quoting process
- Receive and qualify bid requests from customers
- Maintain accurate paperwork and job files to facilitate smooth transition to other departments
- Assist in procuring parts/materials and help manage projects
- Drive bidding activity by obtaining quote requests from customers, track due dates, and submit bids in a professional and "on time" manner
- Interface with electricians and supervisors on any issues relating to electrical projects, including labor management and assignments
- Create and track approval or rejection of quotes
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors
- Plan, direct, oversee, and manage electrical installation projects.
- Supervise and lead team of field electricians
- Grow electrical sector of our construction business.
- Support quoting, training and management of our electrical service business.
- Take ownership of electrical business financial performance, client satisfaction, safety and team morale
- Seven years of experience in the commercial electrical industry as a Journey-level electrician or 10 years of experience as an electrical project manager, preference will be given to those candidates having both field and office experience.
- Computer proficiency with preference given to those proficient at spreadsheets and/or bidding software.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Demonstrates an array of project management best practices for labor management, material procurement, negotiating, scheduling and quality control
- High school diploma a minimum of 2 years technical training or 4 years college level training.
- HVAC-R industry knowledge or experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities
- Self-motivated and work well with others
- Demonstrates time management skills
- Flexibility and desire to take on additional responsibilities

- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines

- Hold or have the ability to secure a Washington Electrical Administrators license. Candidates will be required to secure the license within 3 months of employment. Additional licenses desired will include electrical administrators licensure in Idaho, Montana and Utah.
