About the Role
Clarvida is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to deliver psychiatric and medication management services to program clients in San Diego, CA. This PT 29 hours a week contract position pays starting at $160/hr and includes supervision of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and providing clinical oversight in coordination with other staff. You’ll diagnose, evaluate, and monitor psychiatric treatment within a team-based, trauma-informed care model.

Responsibilities

• 
  Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and assessments

• 
  Prescribe medication and monitor side effects

• 
  Supervise and provide clinical oversight to NPs, RNs, and support staff

• 
  Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team processes

• 
  Maintain clinical documentation and reporting standards

• 
  Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and ethical guidelines

• 
  Consult with external medical professionals as needed

• 
  May provide direct therapy or emergency psychiatric consultation

• 
  Collaborate with nursing staff and other clinicians to integrate care

Required Qualifications

• 
  MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

• 
  Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry

• 
  Licensed to practice medicine independently in California

• 
  Completion of psychiatry residency and 2-year child & adolescent fellowship

• 
  Strong leadership, clinical, and communication skills

• 
  Proficiency with electronic health records

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Experience working with youth or in community mental health settings

• 
  Prior experience supervising nursing or psychiatric teams

• 
  Familiarity with public mental health systems
