Job description

Position Description:

Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking a Part time faculty member to teach PSY Introduction to Psychology in Howell on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30am-8:55am starting in late August .

  • Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
  • Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities. Hours/Schedule: Schedules vary according to class schedules. Part time Instructors may teach up to eight contact hours per week or contact hours per semester. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Earned Master’s degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology, or other professionally-recognized specialty in psychology OR master’s degree with minimum of 18 graduate credits in Psychology required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI-generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recent, successful, post-secondary teaching experience in Psychology courses.
