Position Overview Services for the Underserved (SUS) is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable
Nutritionist to support their adult family shelter.
In this role, you'll partner with our Food Service Manager to help ensure menus meet Department of Health standards while also supporting the diverse dietary needs of our residents. Your expertise will play a key role in promoting health, wellness, and quality care within our community.
This is a
part-time consulting opportunity, ideal for someone seeking meaningful, flexible work:
- Approx. 5-8 hours per week
- Preferred schedule: Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Flexibility available
Key Responsabilities :
- Actively participates in the interdisciplinary patient care process providing recommendations and education based on nutrition expertise.
- Researching the effects of nutrition on health and fitness
- Remains abreast of current research in areas of expertise through networking and continuing education activities.
- Collaborate with the Food Service Manager on nutritional management for clients.
- Assists on menu preparation.
- Reviews menus to assure they are in alignment with the NYC DOH food standards.
- Assures nutritional guidelines are met for all clients with special food needs.
Job RequirementsREQUIREMENTS - Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition or related field from an accredited college. Master's degree
- Active Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with the American Dietetic Association.
- Minimum of two years of experience.
- This position requires in depth clinical nutrition knowledge and the ability to work independently and effectively within the care environment.
