The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Commissionís Office of Public Safety, including scheduling, assignment of work locations, ensuring compliance with department rules and regulations, investigating allegations of misconduct, and determining levels of discipline resulting from such investigations. The position will supervise all public safety personnel directly, enforce Department and BPHC policies, procedures, and directives related to safety and security, and coordinate responses to safety and security threats, medical emergencies, and crime detection/prevention. The position will report to the Director of Administration and Finance, a member of the Commission'S Executive Office. DUTIES
  • Generate weekly departmental rosters, and consider and implement any redeployments when necessary.
  • Schedule necessary overtime predicated upon vacation, personal, military, FMLA, and sick time requests.
  • As Record Keeper, maintain the departmentís incident reports, incident report tracking sheets, overtime slips, copies of parking tickets, patrol sheets, personal, sick, and vacation request forms, medical documentation, parking tickets, court forms, change
    in assignment forms, and all departmental directives.
  • Manage the budget, order all departmental supplies and equipment. Complete departmentís weekly payroll using ADP system, and collaborate with Human Resources Department to address any issues that may arise.
  • Oversee Departmentís video system, including responses to BPHC managementís or outside law enforcementís request for video.
  • Interact with all BPHC program directors and assists in public safety matters. Conduct investigations of allegations of staff misconduct or violations of department policies and protocols. Conducts unannounced site visits during off-hours and
    weekends.
  • Collaborate with Property Management when issues arise concerning parking, fire control panels, CCTV system, supervisory alarms, elevators, etc.
  • Participate in hiring and promotional processes for positions in Public Safety Department.
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Administration and Finance and the Director of Public Safety regarding all aspects of program operations, including but not limited to matters pertaining to program staff and other confidential matters.
  • operate independently. Use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the program and staff as it relates to program operations/services and BPHC policy. Make and recommend management and personnel decisions, including but not
    limited to promotion, transfer and assignment of staff, and imposition of discipline.
  • oarticipate in development of managementís collective bargaining goals/proposals and attend collective bargaining sessions as a representative of BPHC.
  • Represent management in grievance and arbitration process, including but not limited to hearing and adjusting grievances, and attending grievance and arbitration hearings.
  • Performs other duties a required.
