Job Summary:

Summary Under close supervision, this position is responsible for providing safety engineering in identification and appraisal of loss-producing conditions and practices. Participates in the development of safe work and environment procedures training. Ensures workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard provisions, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained; participates in OSHA or other outside agency inspection(s).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifies and analyzes accidental loss workplace conditions; conducts safety investigations and recommends corrective action where occupational hazards exist.

Participates in the development of safety training. Tailors training for individual departments and work areas and includes, but is not limited to ergonomics, hazardous materials, right to know, material handling, CPR/First Aide, AED, Personal Protection Equipment and Emergency Procedures.

Participates in the development and implementation of corporate Employee Health and Safety programs; maintains safety manuals and documentation.

Investigates and develops reports on injuries and fatalities; ensures compliance with required federal and state reports relating to safety.

Ensures compliance with government and state health and safety regulations that meet both budgetary and compliance requirements.

Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelors degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related technical field. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. Must demonstrate a basic understanding of industrial hygiene and/or occupational safety principles, theories, regulations and concepts; and analytical skills to evaluate and interpret regulatory requirements.

good verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings;

presentation skills in order to conduct training for all levels of employees;

good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with employees, senior management and outside representatives;
