Job description

Wms Specialist

Mush is a people-first food company on a mission to fuel humanity with healthy food and positive energy. We believe that food's first job is to nourish us, and public health is a public good. If you aspire to make the world a little healthier and want to build a reputation of doing hard things well, Mush may be a great place for you.

Our first product line of ready-to-eat overnight oats pioneers a new category for the breakfast occasion, offering a superior value proposition compared to traditional morning meals. In just five years, we've expanded from weekend farmers markets to over 11,000 retail doors nationwide. Mush is one of the fastest growing consumer brands in the country. This growth requires a high performer for our world class supply chain team.

Role Description

Mush is seeking a motivated Wms Specialist to execute day-to-day operations of our plant's systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our corporate supply chain team, plant management, and plant supervisors. This person will gather data in a timely manner to support plant operations, corporate supply chain, and finance. We are looking for a teammate who is comfortable with Google Sheets, possesses strong computer/technological proficiency, communicates effectively, is a high learner, and eagerly contributes to a dynamic supply chain team. The ideal candidate possesses excellent time management and problem solving skills.

The specialist will own the information in the Wms and ensure it is correct at all times.

Tactical Responsibilities

  • Create transactions in the Erp based on the production schedule to drive plant operations
  • Manage daily system transactions in the Wms to keep HQ updated with real time information
  • Work orders: create and manage work orders for each step of the conversion process of raw materials to finished goods
  • Transfer orders: create and manage transfer orders to move inventory between facilities based on production, assembly, and outbound needs
  • Cycle counts: create and manage cycle counts on a fixed schedule to ensure inventory accuracy in both the Wms and Erp systems
  • Inventory adjustments: ensure inventory adjustments are used correctly and with the correct reason codes
  • Receipts: check that all receipts are received and labeled correctly
  • Shipments: monitor outbound shipments and ensure they are closed in the Wms promptly after leaving the warehouse
  • Identify and correct inventory and production discrepancies
  • Assist in tracking local efficiencies throughout the plant
  • Design, develop, and run reports that provide the facility with critical information used to make real time decisions
  • Create user guides and Sops to facilitate the learning and simplify tasks for teammates
  • Provides direct support for training, reporting and resolving system problems
  • Recommends procedural changes that will prevent system imbalances and in most cases works directly with the operations to report the root cause of all issues
  • Manage office and warehouse inventory and ensure orders are placed in a timely manner

General Responsibilities

  • Be a steward of all systems and train the staff as needed
  • Identify potential system improvements (user interface)
  • Ensure information is available to whoever needs it when it's needed and how it's needed
  • Communicate production updates and changes to relevant parties
  • Act as a liaison between corporate and plant functions

Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Functional understanding of Google Sheets
  • Experience with Wms or Erp systems a plus
  • Excellent quantitative ability
  • Highly numerate
  • Computer literate
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Can-do mentality
  • Desire to become a phenomenal communicator.

Cultural Requirements:

  • Team and customer first mentality.

  • Beginner's mind: provide possibilities, options, and solutions.
  • Communicator: use tact and precision to communicate ideas, issues, and feedback.
  • Attention to detail: unwavering discipline with little things that make big differences.
  • Relationship builder: customer first mentality with all internal & external counterparts.
  • Problem solver: expect the unexpected; be agile & effective in combating issues.
  • Thrive on adversity: lofty goals and humble values. We bite off more than we can chew and roll our sleeves up when needed.
  • Fun: check the fun box every day. Love what you do & do it well.
