Provides efficient and effective entry level support for purchasing supervisor and the Utility Sales Department. Assists in purchasing materials for the organization and maintains correct item and pricing information.
Verifies purchase requisitions and prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
Resolves shipments in error with suppliers and maintains information accessibility by sorting and uploading into electronic files.
Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history as directed.
Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; also monitors and expedites orders. Confers with supervisor to review defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
Coordinates with supervisor and provides support to all product research programs and assists to obtain required approvals.
The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Electrical distribution industry purchasing experience strongly preferred Some travel may be required to assist with annual warehouse inventoriesplus a minimum of distractions.
