Job description
Job Description

Renesas is hiring a Director of Product Assurance to lead quality for its rapidly growing Module business within the Performance Core Power group. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for embedding a quality-first mindset across the entire product lifecycle and ensuring delivery of products that meet and exceed customer expectations.

You will define and drive quality standards, processes, and metrics across internal teams and key external partners, including module manufacturers and critical suppliers. This role owns end-to-end quality—leading root-cause analysis, driving swift resolution of issues, and ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions from development through post-launch.

A core priority is advancing a “shift-left” quality approach, embedding rigor early in design and development to prevent issues before they occur. You will also champion structured problem-solving methodologies to enable rapid containment, protect customers, and minimize business impact.

Success in this role will be measured by reduced quality incidents, speed and effectiveness of issue resolution, and your ability to influence and elevate quality across a global organization.

This is a highly visible opportunity to work cross-functionally with global teams and shape quality strategy for cutting-edge products serving data center, AI, and computing power markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion and enforce quality standards across all phases of execution.
  • Align customer, vendor, and internal requirements to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Own and resolve quality issues end-to-end, driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives using data-driven insights.
  • Serve as primary liaison to customer QA teams, ensuring alignment and responsiveness.
  • Embed customer-specific quality requirements into design, development, and production.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to rapidly resolve critical quality issues.
  • Drive adoption of structured problem-solving methodologies across the organization.
  • Manage external ISO/IATF audits, ensuring compliance and closure of non-conformances.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product or quality engineering teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field. Masters preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and people skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Solid understanding of new product development procedures, semiconductor supply chain and production environments
  • Expertise with statistical analysis, structured problem solving methodologies, and making data-driven decisions
  • Ability to manage supplier excursions and customer escalations
  • Knowledge of commercial and automotive quality standards
