Description
Draken is looking for experienced F-16 Technicians to maintain F-16 A / B models at the European F-16 Training Center at the 86th Air Base, near Borcea, Romania. These aircraft are used to train pilots of allied nations.
Lodging, tools, travel, and transportation is provided.
High school / GED required
F-16 maintenance experience (5 years)
Air Force Quality Assurance Inspector (2 years)
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
Must obtain / maintain US secret security clearance
Must be able to work all shifts including nights and weekends
Must be able to travel as part of a team
Qualifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line. Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
Special vision abilities required are close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow / knee and reach above / below shoulders.
Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
Regularly required to lift / carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead.
Responsibilities
Performs standardized evaluations, inspect aircraft / components / tools, check compliance with technical orders, identify maintenance trends, and provide technical assistance.
Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Conducts aircraft launch and recovery operations.
Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment. Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
Inspects, troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
Inspects and operates powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment. Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation. Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.
Coordinates maintenance plans and schedules to meet operational commitments. Supervises and assists in launching and recovering aircraft. Reviews maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness. Performs crash recovery duties. Performs staff and supervisory management functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
