We’re looking to grow our Quality Engineering Team at NLS!

Are you passionate about building high-quality software, leading teams, and pushing the boundaries of test automation? As a Senior Quality Engineer at NLS, you’ll play a critical role in shaping quality strategy, mentoring engineers, and driving automation excellence across innovative client projects.

In this role, you won’t just oversee quality efforts—you’ll actively influence how quality engineering evolves. From architecting scalable automation frameworks to leveraging emerging AI-assisted testing tools, you’ll help teams work smarter, faster, and more effectively while ensuring exceptional delivery standards.

You’ll partner with developers, project leaders, and clients to define testing strategies, improve processes, and solve complex challenges. Whether you’re coaching engineers, reviewing automation code, or jumping in hands-on to support project delivery, your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact project success.

If you thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy mentoring others, and are excited about combining modern automation practices with emerging AI capabilities, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

We know you care about benefits and perks, so feel free to scroll down to that section, and then scroll back up to learn more about this role.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and drive automated testing strategies across assigned projects and teams

• Mentor, coach, and support Quality Engineering team members through career development and technical guidance

• Build, review, and maintain automated UI and API test suites using modern automation frameworks

• Oversee test automation deliverables, timelines, and quality standards across multiple workstreams

• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to define end-to-end testing strategies and project expectations

• Develop and refine quality engineering processes, standards, and best practices

• Validate project requirements, test cases, and testing outcomes to ensure high-quality delivery

• Analyze test data, identify risks, and communicate critical quality concerns to leadership

• Support onboarding and training efforts for internal and external testing resources

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve test generation, automation efficiency, defect triage, and documentation workflows

• Evaluate emerging AI testing technologies and recommend practical, measurable improvements for QE teams

• Promote responsible and effective use of AI within the Quality Engineering function while maintaining strong human oversight and accountability

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience leading Quality Engineering or test automation teams

• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent tools

• Strong understanding of UI and API automation testing strategies and implementation

• Experience writing and maintaining code-based automated test suites

• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall environments

• Experience mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and technical coaching

• Ability to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual testing effort and improve delivery quality

• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted testing and development tools

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, remote teams, and clients

• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

• Creative problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience

• 3–5 years of experience with an automation platform

• Previous leadership experience within a Quality Engineering environment

• Insurance industry or Duck Creek platform experience is a plus
