Job Title: Quality Control ChemistJob DescriptionJoin our Quality Team as a Quality Control Chemist I, where you will play a crucial role in performing basic analysis of raw materials and finished products. Your work will ensure that our pharmaceutical products meet high quality standards through safe, compliant, and efficient methods. You will utilize wet chemistry and analytical testing techniques, and report findings through computerized systems or standard laboratory documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform wet chemistry and analytical testing to evaluate the quality of raw materials and finished products.
- Report testing results through computerized systems or paper-based documentation.
- Adhere to company, site, and laboratory safety rules and raise safety issues promptly.
- Follow procedures and adopt cGMP and cGDP practices consistently.
- Work independently while asking questions as necessary.
- Participate actively in planning discussions, offering suggestions for improvement.
- Communicate work sequence status to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Engage in discussions to identify opportunities for correction and improvement when scheduled work is not achieved.
- Support and assist teammates positively in the QC laboratory.
- Utilize understanding of basic non-instrumental wet chemistry techniques, including manual titrations, pH, conductivity, autotitrations, UV-Vis, and polarimeter.
Essential Skills- Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
- Laboratory experience in academia or internship.
- Interest in a career as a pharmaceutical chemist.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HPLC, wet chemistry, pH, and titration.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Extensive training and development opportunities for junior analysts.
- Potential training on HPLC after mastering wet chemistry techniques.
- cGMP training provided.
Work EnvironmentWork in the QC Chemistry lab with initial training on the 1st shift team. Training will last approximately 1-2 months before transitioning to 3rd shift for live product testing. The 3rd shift core hours are 11pm to 7am, with flexibility of +/- 2 hours, and can be scheduled Sunday night to Thursday night or Monday night to Friday night. Alternatively, four 10-hour shifts with possible weekend coverage can be offered. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, 6 paid holidays, and 1 week of PTO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
