The position offers the opportunity to expand technical skills through quality-based training and to progress along a defined career path within the quality function.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of CNC-machined components to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Review engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to confirm product conformity.

  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and quality planning efforts for new and existing products.
  • Support PFMEA/FMEA reviews and contribute to corrective action initiatives to address identified risks and issues.
  • Document nonconformances accurately and assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) as required.
  • Maintain quality records and ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve quality concerns and drive process improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support the implementation of quality and process enhancements.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or similar manufacturing quality role.
  • Hands-on experience inspecting CNC-machined components.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) processes and documentation, including AS9102.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency with common inspection tools and equipment, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Practical experience in inspection and quality control activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to apply GD&T during inspection and measurement activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • AS9102 First Article Inspection experience beyond basic familiarity.
  • Exposure to CMM operation or programming.
  • Experience with internal auditing or quality systems auditing.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience using height gauges and other precision measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with CNC manufacturing processes and their associated inspection requirements.
  • Interest in ongoing professional development through quality-based training courses.
  • Motivation to grow into roles such as Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, or Quality Manager.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, high-precision machining environment focused on producing tightly controlled CNC-machined components. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams and uses a range of precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs. The environment emphasizes adherence to AS9100 and AS9102 standards, structured quality planning (including APQP and PFMEA), and continuous improvement.
