Job description

Administrative Specialist for School Improvement Team

Reports To: Coordinator: School Improvement Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days, with a salary in the range of $81,352 to $90,863. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon grant renewal.

Job Summary (Primary Purpose): The Administrative Specialist for the School Improvement Team serves as a case manager, providing training and targeted support to district and campus leaders to strengthen implementation of TEA-required interventions. This work is grounded in the Effective School Framework and Effective District Framework. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned districts, working closely with District Coordinators of School Improvement (DCSIs) and campus principals throughout the continuous improvement process. The position functions as a school improvement expert, facilitating coordinated support with internal staff and external partners, and designing and delivering training, tools, and resources to improve student outcomes.

Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certificates): Master's Degree, required Teaching certificate, required Administrative certificate, required Minimum five (5) years teaching Minimum three (3) years in campus administration or district office administration Minimum three (3) years experience in coaching campus/district administrators

Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certificates): Two (2) years of experience serving in a leadership role in school improvement efforts Campus/district leader of a turnaround campus/district including implementing and monitoring a Targeted Improvement Plan Three (3) years of leadership in implementing the Effective Schools Framework Three (3) years experience in working collaboratively with staff, clients, and external partners; shared decision-making

Knowledge and Skills: Leadership qualities/competencies in the facilitation of campus and district leaders to address underperforming areas Proficiency in assessing root causes of strengths and weaknesses of a campus and district Knowledge of and experience with both state and federal accountability systems Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to one-on-one coach campus and district administrators toward improvement efforts Proficient use of technology for workplace productivity and presentations Ability to analyze state, regional, district, and campus data Experience in developing content and delivering presentations based on adult learning strategies Demonstrated ability to complete required documentation, reports, and compliance submissions with accuracy, organization, and adherence to timelines

Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public; Collaborative and actively participate with ESC Region 13 teams across divisions to improve student performance and to meet the established goals and objectives of ESC Region 13 and TEA; Provide professional development, personalized coaching, and technical assistance to campus and district leaders around school improvement initiatives; including the development of local and targeted improvement plans, turnaround plans, and accountability guidance; Co-facilitate diagnostic visits to campuses involved in the school improvement process; Design, develop, enhance, and deliver trainings through multiple delivery models for internal and external stakeholders; Attend meetings regarding school improvement and develop required reports, and attend Statewide ESC meetings and State level meetings with TEA; Collect and analyze LEA data from a variety of qualitative and quantitative sources to assist in designing strategic school improvement plans and/or facilitate data analysis protocol at the LEA; Collaborate with statewide Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT) Teams (both internal and external) to help support Region 13 SI-engaged campuses. Design, develop, and deliver training and products and/or provide educational tools and resources pertaining to data analysis; Complete, manage, and submit all required school improvement documentation, reports, and compliance-related deliverables with accuracy and within established timelines; Work in collaboration with other ESC staff to deliver cohesive customer support; Perform other duties as assigned.
