Tactical Execution – Conduct on-site supplier audits, plan incoming inspections, and lead rapid containment for supplier-related quality issues. Inspection Oversight – Oversee and optimize incoming inspection and quality control processes across multiple sites. Cross-Functional Alignment – Drive alignment between Sourcing, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to ensure unified problem-solving and escalation. System Scalability – Establish scalable processes, mentor supplier quality team members, and implement supplier development practices to proactively mitigate risk. Metrics & Reporting – Track, review, and communicate key supplier quality KPIs (, DPPM, OTD, cost of poor quality) to leadership. About Us
Vantage Elevation, LLC is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. Vantage is comprised of eight business units including GAL Manufacturing; GAL Canada; Hollister-Whitney; Elevator Controls; Courion; Bore-Max; Thames Valley Controls and Vertical Dimensions. Through its brands, Vantage supplies almost all electro-mechanical devices used in contemporary elevators. Founded in 1927, the Vantage group employs over 900 staff in multiple locations across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom.
The Quality System Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing a robust Supplier Quality Management System from the ground up. This role ensures the quality, reliability, and compliance of components and services provided by our external supply base, supporting elevator manufacturing operations across multiple locations.
Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field (Master’s preferred
- 3+ years of experience in supplier quality
- Preferably background in electronic manufacturing standards (IPC, soldering, PCB assembly, ESD controls)
- Experience working with metal casting suppliers (, gray iron, ductile iron, aluminum)
- Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and ISO 9001 implementation
- Proven track record in supplier approval, auditing, and scorecard development
- Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites
- Data-driven mindset with ability to develop and track key quality performance metrics
