The Senior Quality Manager provides senior leadership for quality and electrical commissioning execution across multiple projects, verticals, and concurrent work activities, reporting directly to the Director with close collaboration with the project and execution teams. This is a client-facing role that demands a leader with the ability to build strong relationships, both in and out of the office, while focusing on delivering quality in alignment with our core values to every client. The Senior Quality Manager is responsible as the subject matter expert for our project teams, QAQC managers and their reports, commissioning managers and teams, and Energy Marshal personnel across our programs.

You will have the opportunity to further your career with hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and technical training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of QAQC, electrical commissioning support, and Energy Marshal teams across multiple projects and ensure execution teams align with quality and commissioning initiatives, standards, and governance for Miller Electric, Owner, General Contractor, and other representatives across projects.
  • Lead the development and execution of QAQC and electrical commissioning readiness plans, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and turnover documentation.
  • Oversee quality control and commissioning support activities for electrical systems including medium voltage, switchgear, power distribution, grounding, UPS, generators, and life safety systems.
  • Collaborate between project management team, engineers, manufacturers, owners, and contractors to establish quality requirements for projects and maintenance.
  • Coordinate closely with commissioning agents (CxA), owners, engineers, and project teams to ensure quality and commissioning expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Support and participate in commissioning phases, including pre-functional inspections, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and final acceptance.
  • Lead project walk-throughs supporting QAQC validation, energization of readiness, and commissioning planning.
  • Write and maintain energy control plans and Energy Marshal operations as required, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E, client energization protocols, MOPs, switching procedures, and change management processes.
  • Conduct and oversee quality audits, First-of-Kind installations, and commissioning readiness reviews to establish repeatable installation and testing standards.
  • Drive resolution of quality and commissioning issues through root cause analysis and corrective action, contributing to enterprise lessons learned.
  • Develop and maintain QAQC and commissioning documentation structures, templates, and digital workflows.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to QAQC, commissioning support, and energy management for all project and maintenance team members and personnel responsible for managing and executing QAQC and commissioning plans.
  • Provide guidance to ensure QAQC and commissioning test equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and controlled.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and national safety standards for all direct reports.
  • Facilitate meetings with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful deployment of QAQC initiatives across existing and new facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of electrical installations and systems to identify and resolve any non-conformances and train others to do the same.
  • Build long-term relationships with both clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions.
  • Create QAQC documentation plans and execution strategy for site implementation.
  • Own key performance metric delivery for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support issue resolution teams, driving timely identification, escalation, and closure of quality and commissioning issues across multiple projects.
  • Oversee and own subcontractor scopes of work to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with contract requirements, client standards, and commissioning expectations.
  • Provide continuous improvement, operational excellence improvements and standardization to include root cause analysis for quality incidents, QAQC and commissioning planning and execution.
  • Facilitate QAQC training for teams and provide detailed on-site training for personnel responsible for managing and executing QAQC and commissioning plans.
