Job Description
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to patients / residents by assisting with personal hygiene, daily living activities, comfort measures, ambulation, and vital sign monitoring. Working under the guidance of a Licensed Nurse, the CNA plays a key role in delivering comprehensive health services and ensuring patient safety and well-being.
Qualifications :
Current CNA certification in good standing.
1 year of recent experience
Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and infection control.
Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate care.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Personal Care & Hygiene
Assist patients with bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaving.
Help patients travel to the bathroom and provide support for showers and baths.
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Serve meals and assist with feeding as necessary.
Support ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
Provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
Adjunct Care
Administer enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths.
Apply restraints as directed.
Monitoring & Documentation
Check vital signs and weight; perform urine testing.
Record and document intake and output in appropriate forms and electronic medical records.
Perform capillary blood glucose monitoring.
Patient Comfort & Support
Transport patients and respond promptly to call lights and requests.
Report observations of patient condition to nursing supervisor.
Provide emotional support and comfort measures.
Compliance & Confidentiality
Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
Follow hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as The Joint Commission standards.
Special Assignments
Provide one-to-one observation, including virtual observation, as required.
