About the Project Manager Position

The Project Manager role calls for a proactive, strategic thinker who excels in planning, scheduling, and problem-solving. Our most successful Project Managers are those who stay several steps ahead—anticipating needs, preventing issues, and ensuring smooth project execution. In contrast, those who focus only on day-to-day demands often find themselves in constant reaction mode.

Strong leadership is another key to success in this position. The ideal PM not only manages projects but also mentors and empowers Superintendents and Foremen, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in the field.

A forward-thinking approach also supports our broader goal of maximizing efficiency and reducing costs. Strategic planning allows us to purchase materials directly from manufacturers rather than relying on last-minute wholesale buys, helping us leverage our scale for better pricing. Likewise, our best planners consistently lower rental equipment expenses and minimize reliance on the Warehouse, significantly cutting internal handling costs.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Lead project meetings, track milestones, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate risks to maintain schedule integrity and quality standards.

Oversee project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and submittals.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.

Mentor and support Superintendents, Foremen, and field staff, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Manage procurement strategy to secure materials and equipment efficiently and cost-effectively.

Review financial reports and job cost analyses to drive profitability and project success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in commercial or residential development.

Proven ability to plan ahead, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).

Deep understanding of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and safety standards.
