Job description

Account Manager

Salted Stone is a full-service global growth agency and HubSpot Elite Partner looking for a permanent full-time Account Manager to join our growing Client Services team.

The Account Manager at Salted Stone is a consultant, working directly with Strategists and subject matter experts to manage client relationships, define requirements and timelines, and skillfully lead engagements. You will manage a select group of clients, acting as their dedicated liaison and ensuring every project is delivered with precision.

From crafting impactful client communications to leading retainer renewal discussions, you play a key role in driving client satisfaction and revenue growth. You'll be leading the way to efficient project management, ensuring engagements stay on time and on budget. But it's not just about managing engagements - it's about being part of a team that is dedicated to client success. Your recommendations will shape the course of ongoing campaigns, and your keen insights will identify opportunities for account expansion.

In your new role as an Account Manager, you'll get to:

  • Manage a roster of approximately 8-12 clients
  • Effectively manage the onboarding/kickoff of clients
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and our internal teams as it relates to timeline, budget, progress, etc.
  • Prepare account service-related documents such as meeting agendas, meeting reports, emails, proposals, and other client communications and correspondence
  • Triage all incoming support requests from clients via email, calls, or our support ticketing platform
  • Prepare production plans based on contracted budgets and timelines
  • Create and manage tasks in the project management tool as tasks progress through the stages of completion, including keeping the client-facing board up to date
  • Perform meticulous quality checks and testing on project- and campaign-related deliverables
  • Track and report on engagement budgets and client health on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that CRM records are updated on a weekly basis
  • Create and maintain milestone records to accurately forecast client revenue and ensure that invoices go out to clients in accordance with the contracted payment schedule
  • Provide recommendations on how to improve ongoing marketing campaigns and digital projects (e.g., website redesigns, backend integrations, etc.)
  • Lead retainer renewal conversations with the client in a timely manner to ensure retainers do not lapse
  • Identify account retention and expansion opportunities and lead conversations with clients about those opportunities
  • Work with subject matter experts to properly scope out new engagement opportunities
  • Advance Your HubSpot Expertise: Progress your professional development by engaging in intermediate HubSpot training, with a focus on independently handling in-platform tasks for clients.
  • Identify areas of specialization: Determine the types of work that you are best suited to manage, including which engagement types you are strongest at, in-platform specializations, and industry experience.
  • Execute Client Work: Take ownership of low-difficulty tasks within client portals, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution that aligns with client goals. Leverage more senior team members for support and review of your work using your best judgment.
  • Problem-Solve with Confidence: As you progress in this role, move towards applying your growing HubSpot skills to proactively address client challenges and drive client satisfaction.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • BA or BS degree in communications, marketing, or business
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate details
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assess a wide range of issues in creative ways and consult on solutions
  • Confidence in advising clients on how to proceed in order to achieve their goals
  • Confidence in leading sales-related discussions with clients
  • Comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confidently organize and prioritize work under pressure
  • Work within an assigned budget
  • Proven HubSpot experience
  • Teamwork.com experience

Outside of your technical skills, our ask is for all Salted Stone employees to:

  • Team player. Friendly, authentic, collaborative, and makes an effort with relationships (the S2 team, clients, HubSpot). Shows care and respect for those around them and themselves. Live our Values.
  • Growth mindset. Prioritizes learning and self-improvement. Shows motivation and dedication to growth, personally and professionally.
  • Agile. Adapts to changing priorities and conditions, complexity, and change.
  • Proactive. Demonstrates tenacity and acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to S2. Finds solutions and opportunities, not just problems.
  • Prioritizes communication - Clear, transparent, and consistent with communication across your team and manager, with other teams, and with clients. If in doubt, over-communicate! Isn't afraid to call out and help correct mistakes before they impact the team or the business.
  • HubSpot-centric. HubSpot is at the center of most of Salted Stone's work. Not everyone has to be a HubSpot expert to work here, but everyone needs to have a baseline interest and understanding.

You'll enjoy working:

In a remote role. You can choose to base yourself in CA, CO, ID, LA, MI, NC, NV, NY, PA, TX, or WA. Your new Leader is located in ID (Mountain Time). S2's wider team is spread across North America, Australia, Ireland, and the Philippines, so there may be times when we ask you to flex your schedule to allow for collaboration with different time zones. This flex goes both ways.

Our North American team enjoys:

  • Company-paid health insurance
  • 401(k) match
  • Access to free Financial Advisors & Coaching
  • Birthday Leave (an additional paid day off)
  • Anniversary Leave (an additional paid day off)
  • Holisticly wellness benefit
  • Regular Culture Committee initiatives & events
  • Fully flexible, remote work
  • Company-provided laptop

  1. Resume and portfolio review (where applicable)
  2. Video screening with the Program Director
  3. Final interview with team members
