JOB SUMMARY The Program Director, working with the Unit Director, directs the Union St. Clubhouse implementation of a broad range of programs, with broad oversight of program activities. Plans, develops, oversees implementation, and supervises programs and program staff, and performs related administrative duties. He/she is responsible for the direct supervision of several positions at the Union St. Clubhouse. The Program Director will assume the responsibilities of the Unit Director in his/her absence. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES • Is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of all Club special events, working with the appropriate core area staff. This may involve direct supervision and staffing of all Club special events. These events would include: Holiday parties, member meetings, dance/music presentations, annual awards night program and banquet, etc. • Encourage member participation across program areas, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help youth build skills and confidence. • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where members feel valued, respected, and supported. • Is responsible for program marketing by working alongside the Director of Marketing, the Unit Director, and all program staff to ensure the promotion and marketing of programs and services for members are done promptly via posting of daily schedules, fliers, monthly newsletters, weekly announcements, and BGCGM social media. • Will serve as Assistant Camp Director for the summer day camp program, which will include working with the Unit Director on the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of all summer program staff as well as program development. He/she will be responsible for securing and maintaining a First Aid and CPR/FPR Certification, CDL-B license with passenger endorsement, as well as a DOT Physical Card. • Will work with the Unit Director as a parent Liaison and will be available to meet with parents of program participants as necessary to discuss any concerns that are brought forth either by the parent or the program staff. • Hours – Monday through Friday, 12-8 pm during the school year and 8:15-4:15 pm for Summer. Hours subject to change based on seasonal events. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Child Development, or related field preferred. • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in youth programming, including staff supervision. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education. • Must be at least 21 years old. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Ability to pass criminal background and drug screenings. • Maintain an active auto insurance policy with a minimum of liability insurance. • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Strong skills in leadership, supervision, and program development. • Ability to manage budgets and expenses effectively. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with youth, families, and colleagues. • Calm, professional demeanor in high-energy or stressful situations. • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, school vacation weeks, and summer camp hours as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT • Actively supervise and participate in recreational, athletic, and educational activities, both indoors and outdoors • Stand, walk, run, and engage in physical play for extended periods of time. • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies, including the ability to move swiftly to ensure the safety of members. • Maintain energy and alertness throughout extended shifts, often in a loud or high-energy setting. • Work in a variety of environments, including gymnasiums, playgrounds, classrooms, and outdoor fields. • Lift and carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. • Perform basic physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs. • Using general office equipment, including phones, copiers, and computer equipment. • Job requires visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
