Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Engineer to manage our North Charleston, SC office. The ideal candidate will have experience with transportation and roadway design, project management and business development. This position requires the ability to liaise with clients, direct teams, and manage contracts and budgets. Position Description
SUMMARY :
The Regional Manager is responsible for the successful operations of the office. The Regional Manager is responsible for the technical, business development, financial, and administrative management of the office, for achieving the company’s goals and ensuring policies, practices, and philosophies are followed. The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position reports to a Division Manager.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies and cultivates new business and clients primarily within South Carolina; however, business development opportunities also exist throughout the Southeastern United States.
- Prepares and executes an 1-3 year comprehensive business plan addressing both short term and long-term goals.
- Develops, supervises and monitors client relationship strategies, maintaining meaningful relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Ensures external client focus is top priority of the office, and that systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client are implemented.
- Responsible for office performance including revenue and profit.
- Oversees preparation of pre-qualifications and proposals, estimating project costs, contract negotiation, project quality, staffing schedules and project profitability.
- Supervises office staff and is responsible for implementing technical training and career development of team.
- Ensures employees are aware of the office's strategic plan, corporate policies and procedures, including short- and long-term goals.
- Oversees identifying, recruiting and retaining qualified technical and administrative personnel; monitors staff performance and makes necessary personnel changes.
- Oversees overall safety culture of the office.
- Ensures staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree and / or Master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university
Minimum of 15 years’ experience preferred. Management and business development experience preferred.
Maintains competency in and serves as subject matter firm resource in area of expertise.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Structural Engineer (S.E.) in South Carolina in South Carolina or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
