Executive Director, ImpactTulsa

ImpactTulsa is a collective impact organization that turns data into systemic change by convening community sectors through the shared vision that all children in Tulsa receive every opportunity to succeed, from cradle to career. ImpactTulsa serves as the backbone for cross-sector cradle-to-career alignment in Tulsa and plays a key role in advancing the Mayor's Office of Children, Youth, and Families (MOCYF) through coordinated Action Alliances. It was founded in 2014 by leaders from across sectors, including business, education, faith, nonprofit, civic, and philanthropy. They came together with a strong purpose to improve the lives of Tulsa's youth through accessible, high-quality education.

ImpactTulsa is looking for a dynamic and skilled Executive Director. Core duties include leadership over strategy, planning, organizational performance, organization culture, board relations, fundraising, stakeholder relationships and aligned initiatives.

This position requires a unique and diverse set of skills, attributes and experience. The Executive Director must demonstrate a knowledge of collective action and equity strategies, fundraising, and dynamics of cradle to career environments. The individual must be a leader for social justice, and an outstanding communicator and organizational leader, who can effectively maintain and develop partnerships, and convey the mission and activities of ImpactTulsa.

Executive Director Responsibilities

1. Strategy and Results

   a. Lead implementation of ImpactTulsa's cradle to career strategy.

   b. Align cross-sector partners and internal staff to measurable outcomes.

   c. Oversee data strategy, performance management, and continuous improvement.

   d. Ensure clarity of priorities and disciplined execution.

2. Civic and Partner Leadership

   a. Convene and mobilize leaders across education, philanthropy, business, nonprofit and local government.

   b. Strengthen working group alignment across initiatives.

   c. Represent ImpactTulsa in national networks (e.g. StriveTogether).

3. Organizational & Culture Leadership

   a. Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing staff.

   b. Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and belonging.

   c. Lead change management with clarity, empathy and consistency.

   d. Ensure internal systems and team structure support strategic priorities.

   e. Develop strong and effective relationships and reporting mechanisms with Board to achieve organizational goals.

4. Financial Stewardship and Fund Development

   a. Ensure strong fiscal oversight, transparency, and compliance.

   b. Lead diversified fundraising strategy (local, national, and federal).

   c. Oversee grant acquisition and compliance.

   d. Partner with the Board on long-term financial sustainability.

5. Political & Systems Acumen

   a. Operate effectively in politically dynamic environments.

   b. Navigate cross-sector power dynamics.

   c. Exhibit systems-level thinking tied to measurable outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience.

• 5+ years in senior management, including leading teams in a fast-paced nonprofit, education, social enterprise, or business environment.

• High-level understanding of collective action, education systems, and nonprofit management.

• Experience working at the intersection of nonprofit, public sector, and philanthropy; able to navigate complex civic and political environments with credibility and neutrality

• Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

• Executive presence to inspire confidence and passion among diverse internal and external audiences.

• Experienced in fundraising and financial management.

• Excellent communicator and writer, including ability to convey analytical results to broad audiences.

• Demonstrated commitment to equity and improving outcomes for historically underserved communities.

• Savvy relationship-builder and culture leader.

• Track record of leading, inspiring and developing high-performance teams.

• Strategic systems thinker and creative problem solver.

• Collaborative leadership style, with an engaging and confident interpersonal style.

The Executive Director of ImpactTulsa is an exempt, salaried position with a competitive benefits package and a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The Executive Director reports to the Board.
