Job description

Job Description

* Assists in preparing of food.
* Serves meals to students and staff.
* Performs cleaning duties, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dishwashing and pot washing.
* Light cooking, fills beverage coolers, sets up hot and/or cold food area.
* Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events.
* Prepares and serve food according to menus.
* Checks and stores incoming supplies.
* Stores dishes, containers, cups, pots, etc.
* Participates on safety committee.
* Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
* Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule - Mon - Fri 7am-2pm
Subject to Change

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required Sit, walk, talk and hear

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* The work is performed primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line
* Standing most of the work day is required.
* Work requires movement in and out of store rooms and freezers
* Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
* The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Requirements

* High school graduate or equivalent. Foodservice experience a must.

* Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
* Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting up to 40lbs, bending, pushing, and pulling.
* Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
* Always present a positive and professional image. Must be a team player.
* Must be able to lift between 30-50lbs.
* Basic English Reading and Writing Skills
* Able to Pass Background Screening

* ServSafe Certified Preferably
